About This site

This site hosts the genres and pieces I have created for my ENC 2135 third project. Within the realm of these pieces, I have created this website as a means of virtual communication as a way to better reach my audiences.

This site documents my experience in rushing and pledging Delta Nu Zeta. DNZ, for short, is a non-Panhellenic service and social sorority at Florida State University. DNZ, being non-Panhellenic, reaps a myriad of benefits. For one, it is not included in the recent Greek ban instated by President Thrasher. Additionally, it allows for a much more personal feel, given that it is not nationally regulated and can easily expand or alter its policies to best accommodate FSU students. As such, DNZ is much more diverse in its members, and welcomes unique opinions, personalities, and members.

While the purpose of this site is to educate others about the benefits of DNZ, it is not meant to be explicitly stated. This website is not the official site of DNZ, which hosts the majority of information that one would be able to read and understand. This website is rather meant to share my experience with DNZ, and why I think that other students who have felt the way I did at FSU should  consider rushing for DNZ. I am a very introverted person who sharply contrasts the typical sorority mold: I do not drink, struggle with general and social anxiety, support myself in school through loans, and struggle immensely with my self-confidence. When I first got to FSU, I closed myself off due to the initial differences I noticed between myself and others. After I found out about DNZ, I instantly knew it would be a place where I felt welcome. I've always admired the principles of sororities, but knew that with the general impression of Greek life here and the costs associated, I would not be able to enjoy my time in one.

DNZ quickly became the factor that transformed my experience at FSU. I now feel welcomed and encouraged here, and everywhere I go I run into a sister and am able to have conversations with them about anything and everything. I cannot speak highly enough of my experiences in DNZ so far, and look forward to the many to come over the next three and a half years. So, this site will document journal entries I've made that explain how my mindset has changed since being in DNZ, as well as a photo collage that examines the posts and photos I've made that reflect the same change in attitude.

I hope you enjoy, and possibly find comfort in knowing that there are organizations out there that you are meant to be a part of, and encourage you to consider Delta Nu Zeta!
